About Us

Hi, I'm Andrew, the founder and owner of BTS Properties. I’ve always been fascinated by personal finance and figuring out how to make my money work for me. My real estate journey actually started back in high school after reading Rich Dad Poor Dad. Later, when I landed a job as a software engineer at Caterpillar, I put those ideas into action and bought a duplex—living in one side and renting out the other.

That was my crash course in being a landlord! We made a lot of mistakes in those early days, but we eventually bought a couple more properties. Along the way, we learned exactly what worked and, more importantly, what didn't work. As our portfolio grew, I tried to find a local property management company to take over the day-to-day operations, but I couldn't find anyone who felt like a good fit or managed things the way an investor truly needs.

So, I decided to build it myself. I pulled from my software engineering experience—specifically how to build and optimize great systems—and applied it directly to property management. Today, my focus at BTS Properties is using those systems, paired with our hands-on experience, to deliver a completely stress-free experience for our owners and excellent homes for our residents.

Passions and Interests:

Outside of work, you can likely find me running or biking to train for a triathlon (I just try to survive the swim!), or playing the piano. I also love traveling and learning about other places and cultures. There's something to learn from everyone :)

I have eaten the exact same meal for breakfast pretty much every day since middle school: three eggs over easy, two pieces of toasted Dave’s Killer Bread, and a side of Daisy 2% cottage cheese.

To continue building a team of awesome, talented people so we can deliver an exceptional experience to both our owners and residents.

Prior to entering the property management industry, I worked for a home builder, where I developed a passion for both project management and real estate. That experience led me to an opportunity in property management, and I have now spent more than six years helping owners and residents navigate the day-to-day aspects of rental housing. I’m excited to bring my experience and knowledge to the BTS team as a Resident Services Coordinator.

I have two degrees, one in criminal justice and one in psychology.

Hi I’m Allie, Andrew’s wife and partner in life and business! Together we have built BTS Properties from the ground up and I have loved watching Andrew’s vision come to life. Building something meaningful together in our home community is truly an amazing feeling. Alongside property management, I work as a Registered Nurse—a career built entirely on taking care of people, listening to their needs, and solving problems under pressure.

I take that same passion for helping others with me into BTS Properties. Outside of work, you can find me enjoying active hobbies like yoga, swimming, running and hiking! I have a passion for traveling to new places and learning about other cultures and ways of life, it's a big world and there is so much to see! I also love animals, you may find me volunteering at River City Cat Cafe or asking to pet your dog on a walk.

Hi, we’re Sofia and Sydney, and we’re the real brains behind the operations at BTS Properties! While Sofia handles workplace relaxation by tracking down the absolute best sunny spots on the floor, Sydney heads up quality control by rigorously testing the durability of every scratching post in the office. While we may rarely respond to emails, our commitment to maintaining a calm, low-stress office environment is unmatched. 

Accomplishments

• Successfully achieved a combined office record of 22 hours of napping in a single business day.

• Thoroughly inspected, approved, and shredded every piece of plastic that entered the office

• Maintained a perfect 100% track record of defending the workspace from rogue laser pointers
